These are the materials you will need. All of these are listed in the supplies slide.
Get your clay and start modelling over your container with it. (Tip: because this is a volcano, try and mould a volcano shape, just like I did!)
Put a tea spoon of baking soda in your volcano. (Tip: use the funnel to avoid the powder getting all over the volcano)
Get your dishwashing liquid and put it in your volcano. (Tip: put as much according to the size of the volcano. As my container was small, I put a small amount of it in, about 0.5 mL)
Put two drops of the red food dye in the volcano. (Tip: increase the quantity of the dye according to the size of the volcano)
Now for the eruption! Get your vinegar and pour it in the volcano. (Tip:Stop pouring the vinegar once the volcano has erupted)
Explanation: this volcano erupted because the baking soda reacted with the vinegar (it contains acetic acid) producing carbon dioxide gas. The gas produced enough pressure to force the foam out.
Thanks for watching my Snapguide on how to make a mini volcano! I hope you enjoyed it and learnt something new!
