You can use 2-3 ramekins, small cup or bowls which are heat resistant or microwavable. These items will help elevate your plate or bowl.
Place your large pot on the stove.
Use a small or medium pot to boil your water.
Add water to your small or medium pot.
Heat your water until it starts to boil.
Don't over heat your water because you will be transporting and pouring it into your larger pot with the ramekins.
Place your ramekins or small cups inside your larger pot and pour the hot water inside of them and your pot. Pouring water inside the ramekins will keep them from rattling as the water boils.
Place your small bowl or plate on top of the ramekins and turn on the heat to continue boiling the water.
Place your vegetables or food on top or inside the bowl or plate. Try to use a bowl or plate that is the right size without it touching the pot edges. This method could also be used to steam fish too.
