Gather your supplies. For the mask template I just searched the internet for free Mardi Gras Mask Tempate. You can choose one to your liking. Print it out directly onto card stock
Get some chipboard to support the mask- an old cereal box is a great way to repurpose and recycle if you don't have chipboard handy. Cut it a little bigger than your mask, set aside for now
Rough cut out a mask. The cool thing about Coredinations is that it has a white core. So take an embossing folder and either emboss it, or cheat like I did and run the end of pen over it!
Now take your block sander and run it over the embossing for a cool designed distress look. Of course if you don't have an embossing folder you can skip this part and just sand the edges
Should be looking like this
Run your mask through a Xyron Creative Station. The creative station runs a nice layer of adhesive over it. If you don't have one, you can use glue or double sided tape to attach to chipboard
Oh no! Focus problems.... Oh iPhone ! Well at least you can see this step is attach mask to chipboard and cut it out
Take a Colorbox Catseye and ink the edges, on my other mask shown at the end- I just sanded it
Now add your Petaloo flowers with a hot glue gun. I also popped a few Petaloo brads in too
I made a little kitty nose a whiskers with Petaloos Fancy Trims in black and a small piece of Coredinations paper. I hot glued them together
To cover the bamboo skewer, I rolled washi tape over it. If you don't have washi tape you can also use the Colorbox ink to color the skewer.
Hot glue the skewer onto the back side of the mask
Yikes! I look pretty scary lol! Here are a few more pics of my finished pieces. These are great for home decor- hang them in a door, or use as a centerpiece!
