A great system (thanks Clarke!) to keep track of pills you or someone you are caring for has to take.

So maybe you or someone you care for needs a bunch of different medications. They need to be taken at different times and in different doses. So how do you keep track of all of this?

When I came home from the hospital a couple weeks ago, our friend Clarke set up this system to keep track of all the pills I had to take take.

For each medication, she created an index card that had the name and dose on one side along with any relevant information. She used a different color felt pen for each pill.

On the reverse side of the index card, you record the date and the time you take a pill. Other people can record it for you or you can record it for someone else or you can record it for yourself.

When you take multiple medications at one time (for example in the morning), it's good to put everything first in a tiny bowl or plate so you don't lose track of what you need to take.

We keep the index cards on a clip board that hangs on my bed for easy access.

This system is also useful because doctors & nurses ask you when was the last time you took a certain pill or how many have you taken in the last 24 hours. Also sometimes you might forget ...

Big props to Clarke because it's really her guide! But since it's been so helpful for me I wanted to share it with you because you might find it useful too.
