How to Install Micro-Loop Hair Extensions

by Chelsea Lorrie

Micro loop hair extensions are a safe, no damage, long lasting solution to give you the beautiful long hair you've always wanted!

Supplies

  • 200 Strands of Human Remy Hair
  • 1 Pair of curved pliers
  • 1 Hair Clip
  • 1 Brush
  • 1 Comb
  • 1 Pair of straighteners
  • Instructions

    Step 1

Supplies - email me at cljames@gmx.co.uk for info about where to get good, long lasting human hair. I only paid about €30 (£40) for 3 sets of 18inch hair. :)

    Step 2

These take around 4 hours to install but last for up to 4 months before needing adjusting! After that they can be undone, pushed up the hair and re-tightened around the hair and you're all set to go!

    Step 3

Firstly you need clean, dry and straightened hair.

    Step 4

Section off your hair about an inch from the nape of your neck.

    Step 5

Remember - when installing these extensions, do not go right to the edge of your face. Leave about a cm on each side of each section of hair!

    Step 6

This is a single micro loop hair extension. My ones came with the loop already attached.

    Step 7

You pass a strand of hair through the clear loop and pull on the clear bead that's resting on my middle finger. Your hair gets pulled through the small brown bead, and then this bead is clamped.

    Step 8

Pass the hair through the clear loop.

    Step 9

Pull the clear bead, and the strand of hair will be pulled through the brown bead. Easy! (I will put a video up of this stage soon!)

    Step 10

When applying be careful to leave a cm of space from the root. These extensions are too close to the root of the hair.

    Step 11

If this happens, don't panic! Just undo, by gripping the bead with the pliers and squeeze the opposite way. Pull further down the hair and re-clamp the bead shut!

    Step 12

These extensions are correctly installed with about a fingers width of space between the loop and the root:

    Step 13

Leave another fingers width between each extension. With each new layer, you'll be building up the extensions. This is called brickwork, the spaces left from the bottom layer are filled by the top.

    Step 14

Seems to take forever, but keep going! It's so worth it!

    Step 15

Half way there! This is 100 extensions! :)

    Step 16

The finished product! The day you install your extensions, you may have a slight headache from the weight of your new hair, but the headache goes and you soon get used to all the new hair!

    Step 17

    Me with short hair :(

    Step 18

Me with beautiful, long hair! :)
