Start with a mushroom kit from Back to the Roots. Inside is the bag of coffee grinds and spores + a mister.
Remove the front cover.
Now you can see the spores which are in the coffee grinds!
Cut a 3x5 inch plus in the soil bag.
Remove the soil bag and put it slit side down into a bowl of water. We use a heavy object to keep the bag from floating to the top. Let it soak for 24 hours.
Fill up the mister with water.
Remove the soil bag from the water and let the water start to drip out
When the water is finished dripping out of the soil bag put it back into the box
Every morning and evening, spritz 2-4 times with the mister.
This is what it looks like on Day 1.
On day 6 in the evening, we are starting to see something sprouting.
Day 7. Finally starting to see a lot of growth!
Day 8. Lots of growth!
Day 9. Wow!
Day 10. Just about ready to harvest.
To harvest, you can pluck off each mushroom, or cut them all off together with a knife.
Cook your mushrooms however you like! Or, if you are not going to use them immediately, you can store them in a plastic bag in the fridge.
