Cut two pieces of medium to heavy weight chipboard to measure 5.5" wide x 3.5" tall.  These will be the front and back cover.

Prepare the tab binding by cutting a piece of heavy weight cardstock to measure 7 3/4" wide x 3 1/2" tall.  This piece has been scored.  Directions for scoring are in the next step.

Score 1.5" in from the left then continue scoring at 1/4", 1/2", 1/2".  Repeat until you have 4 sets of score lines as seen above.

Fold the scored lines so that each 1/2" section is "pinched" together as seen in the photo.  I do this by pinching the scored lines together while pressing down into my work surface.

Flip the folded paper over and apply a strip of 1/2" score tape to the LEFT hand side of each pair of 1/2" score lines.

Place 1/2" Scor-Tape inside the traced lines. Peel off the liner and line the chipboard covers up with the traced lines.  Burnish to secure.

Flip the covers so that they are face up.  Use a ruler or the grid lines on your craft mat to line up the covers and place the spine between them so that there is a 1/4" gap between spine and covers.

Remove tape liner.  Using a bone folder, gently bend the paper toward the tape, creasing as you go.  Working slowly will help keep the paper from cracking.  Burnish paper onto tape with bone folder.

Measure the width of your spine and add Scor-Tape to the area around the spine.  I added an additional piece of 1/4" scor Tape to the bottom edge.  It is important to secure the binding well.

Add a thin bead of glue or Scor-Tape to the fold on the right hand side.  Glue in place above the fold line on the bottom of the bag.   Make sure everything is lined up flush with the edge.

Here are the finished bags.  I cut plain cardstock from the insert die to use as photo mounts.  Cut patterned paper using insert die and mount onto the bag fronts to decorate.  This saves so much time

If you want a ribbon closure, place Scor-tape all the way around the middle section of the album cover BEFORE decorating.  Tape width should be equal to ribbon width. Remove liner and add ribbon.
