Tone bogus paper with side strokes of white chalk pastel. Blend into paper with paper towel to create even light value.
Transfer lines from contour tracer by creating "sandwich" of toned bogus paper on bottom, graphite transfer paper (graphite side facing down), and contour tracer on top. Trace line with firm pressure
After tracing lines (including frame), faint graphite lines appear on bogus paper.
Using chalk pastel sticks, apply local color. Use good technique-even application, crisp edges, even gradations. Keep white from underneath white pastel where the light values are.
In detail areas, use chalk pastel pencils. Sharpen with hand sharpener as needed.
Add other colors you see in the still life.
Add value, reaching white to dark. Use blue in shadows, neutrals, and complementary color to richer and deepen. Avoid a rainbow "throwing up".
