🔴Note: a gradient is one color fading into another. An ombre is a color fading into the same color, but a different shade; mint into forest green. 🔴 Paint a base coat.
Paint your nails either white, if you're using neon colors (to make them brighter) or the lightest of the colors you're using.
Put some polish on a makeup wedge/sponge and pat it on to your nail. It will be light, but keep patting and the color will build. But be careful not to pull up what's already there.
This is what it looks like.
Add topcoat. And clean up around your nails with a small brush or q-tip and polish remover.
I really like this design called an inverse/reverse gradient. It's a gradient, then use nail tape- or just tape off part of the gradient and do another with the colors going in the opposite direction.
This is striping tape, or nail tape. You can get a ton of rolls off Amazon or eBay for a really low price.
Use three or four pieces if you have tape. If you don't, I've done triangles or blocks with regular tape. If you can cut shapes out of tape, you can do that too. Make sure what's on your nail is dry.
I used a different color for this inverse gradient- just to see if it works. It's a really bad video. But you just stamp on the gradient.
This is what it looks like before I pulled the tape off.
After the tape is off. Top coat and clean up with a small brush or q-tip and polish remover.
Hope your nails turn out great! Tell me what kind of guides you'd like and I'll work on it.
