Guess what! October is National Pasta Month and what better way to celebrate than to add some flair to your pasta meals? So we’ve teamed up with Giovanni Rana® to DIY some colorful pasta bowls!
If you’re not familiar with Giovanni Rana®, it’s time to head to your local grocer! Giovanni Rana has been making pasta for over 54 years and we’re ALL about their authentic Italian pastas.
Gather your supplies.
Start off by cutting out varying sizes of rectangles or squares from your tissue paper. We used four different colors here (how awesome is this glitter pattern?!).
Tear off the edges for a more organic, textured look.
When you have all your shapes ready, flip the ceramic bowl over. Add a layer of dishwasher safe sealant to the area where you want your tissue paper.
Gently place the tissue paper shapes on top of the glue, then add a second coat of sealant on top.
Be really careful — the paper tears easily when it’s coated in glue.
Play around with the texture of the tissue paper. I personally like the look that the wrinkles provide.
Some tissue paper colors may bleed when coated with the glue. Wipe off any dye leakage with a paper towel. Allow the glue to dry for 1-2 hours.
It’s lookin’ pretty good!
Flip the bowl back over. AANNND you’re done!
If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, play around with different shapes to create your very own pasta-inspired pattern!
Pour some pasta into your newly designed bowls, and you’ve got yourself a pasta party!
Nothing beats flavorful pasta that’s ready to serve in just minutes — perfect for celebrating National Pasta Month :)
