How to Decorate a Fantasy Flower

Supplies

  • 3 Plain vanilla Cupcakes
  • Modeling icing
  • Toothpicks
  • Knife
  • Royal icing
  • 2 Piping bag
  • 1 Small piping bag nozzle
  • 1 Thicker piping bag nozzle
  • Leaf cutter
  • Pink food dye
  • small flower cutter
  • Black food dye
  • 1 small sized flower petal cutter
  • 1 medium sized flower petal cutter
  • Yellow food dye
  • Green food dye
  • Blue food dye
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Start with desired amount of plain vanilla cupcakes

    Step 2

    Start with a handful of white moulding icing placed on a board covered in corn flour (for non-sticking purposes)

    Step 3

    Add 4-5 drops of yellow food dye to icing

    Step 4

    Mix in so the color is a solid yellow

    Step 5

    Roll out with a rolling pin (or sauce bottle) until less than half a cm thick

    Step 6

    Cut out petals user the medium sized cutters

    Step 7

    Cut them in half

    Step 8

    Set them aside to harden whilst continuing with step 9

    Step 9

    Add green food dye to another handful of moulding icing and mix in until you get a solid color you are happy with

    Step 10

    Use small leaf cutters to cut out leaves

    Step 11

    Continue cutting until you have the desired amount you will need (I used 2)

    Step 12

    Set them aside to dry. Take a sharp knife and make the pattern in the leaf

    Step 13

    Add blue food dye to a handful of moulding icing

    Step 14

    Mix in well until you get a solid blue

    Step 15

    Use small flower cutter to cut out flowers

    Step 16

    Continue to cut more, then set aside to harden

    Step 17

    Do the same as step 15 but with white moulding icing

    Step 18

    Set aside to harden

    Step 19

    Pour royal piping icing into a bowl and add small amounts of water accordingly until you get a slightly thick consistency. Add drops of black food colouring and mix well

    Step 20

    Pipe around the edge of the cupcake with a star novel

    Step 21

    Stick on bigger yellow petals and continue until the circumference is full

    Step 22

    Pipe dots in between the big petals

    Step 23

    Stick on smaller petals. Continuing until finished

    Step 24

    Pipe the centre of the cupcake with a small star shaped pipe until full (pipe as above)

    Step 25

    On another cupcake, follow step 19 and add pink food colouring instead of black. Pipe using a bigger star nozzle and pipe around and up until the icing comes to a point like seen above

    Step 26

    Add two leaves, made earlier

    Step 27

    Add the blue and white flowers that you have previously made

    Step 28

    Present on a plate and enjoy!!!!
