I purchased this frame at my local $1.00 store.
I added a nice layer of Mud Textue Paste, forming peeks and chuncks here and there for added texture. Allow to dry overnight.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the crackle glaze I used on this but it's Americana Weathered Wood Crackle Medium, I brushed a thick coat on the dried texture paste and dry naturally.
Take your mini mister and spray water on your chipboard piece and peel back the layers to create a weathered worn look to your piece.
Here is a side view of the chipboard piece.
Using different shades of reds, apply wth a sponge to chipboard pieces. The sponge provides more texture to the surface.
Take a script stamp and using black archival ink, stamp here and there for interest. Using your red paints, water them down and drip them in random spots on your frame.
Above is a photo of the crackle medium I used on the frame, Apply a good coat on your title and allow to dry naturally. This is the key to this product for create beautiful cracks.
Paint a coat of Black Leather Jacket on top of your cracks, allow to dry a bit and using baby wipe remove the excess. This provides a pretty antiqued look.
Here's a closeup after using the baby wipes.
Paint a top coat of white on your chipboard and another coat of crackle medium, allow to dry then brush on top with Metal Effects gold.
Tuck your cheese cloth underneath your flowers with adhesive Using different reds, pinks, and some purple, dab them on the top petals of the flowers. Using the gold to highlight the flowers.
Here is a closeup of the heart with all its pretty cracks and aged edges.
The key was made using air clay in a mould, added textue paste over the top for texture and once dry I added gold, bronze and black paint to give it that old antique look. Wrap it with gold wire.

I always keep a ton of these crystal gemstones that can be custom colored using alcohol inks to match your piece.
Here is a closeup of the gemstones.
And a closeup of the key
