Paper mache heart was purchased at my local craft store.
I decided to use these three stencils and run Mud Texture Paste through it for some texture.
On one side of the heart I added my metal pieces and flowers to create a focal point. Allow everything to dry completely.
Give everything a coat of black gesso.
The right side of the heart I wanted to add some fun texture so I spritzed water on kraft cardstock and ripped in strips, cruppled them together and glue in rows like a ruffle.
Once the rows are glued allow to dry. This is a fun way to add texture to your projects.
For rivets I made beads of hot glue and allowed to dry, then give everything a coat of black gesso again.
Now the fun part, the paints and sprays, I started off with the darkest reds and painted the tops of your embellishments, spray in the crevices. Dry before adding your next color or it will blend.
Next I moved on to lighter colors.
After your paints and sprays are dry, take a dry brush and add white gesso, Brushing lighting on tops of all your flowers and embellishments this is a wonderful way to highlight.
Taking the Vegas Gold and using my finger I swiped the paint here and there on my wings. Also rubbing some on top of the embellishments and flowers for metal highlights.
Be sure to hit the riverts and the tops of the ruffles with that gold paint. Lastly, title is added.
Hope this has inspired you to try something different.
