I'm altering an old embroidery hoop, so first I traced around the hoop & cut out my piece of cardstock. Next, I used Sandstone Stone Effects & Lotus Stencil to create some great background texture.
Just enough for a little interest.
Next, with my Dot Matrix Stencil and some Seafoam Green Velvet Medium to added more texture in a few spots
Now lets start on the hoop. This is an old metal one, so I thought I'd add some rust looking effects. After a coat of gesso was dry, I spayed it with Warm Colorations Spray.
Now I'm applying Seafoam Velvet Paint really thick in some random spots.
While still wet, I sprinkled a rust colored embossing powder on it, & used my heat tool to set the powder & dry the paint.
Now add another layer! Not everywhere, just on top of a few spots.
I'll be using this diecut, so to make it coordinate with my project, I painted it with my Lagoon Velvet Paint.
Now I'm blotting on some Gold Dust Shimmering Minx.
The places where the most gold color settle and dry are gorgeous!
Here's the the inspiration image for the project. Everything goes together great, so it's time to gather your embellishments and glue them on! :)
What a wonderful project to brighten up the winter days ahead!
