Let's create this 5" x 7" non-traditional Halloween card. You can easily alter this card for other themes by leaving off the Halloween sentiment and the witch's hat.
Cut deep orange cardstock to make a 5" x 7" card base. Then cut black cardstock 4 3/4" x 6 3/4". Adhere the black to the card base.
Cut gold pattern paper 4 1/2" x 3 3/4", green pattern paper 4 1/3" x 2 3/4" and cut apart the girl with the raven. Ink-distress edges of each with black ink.
Cut black cardstock 2 1/4" x 6 1/8". Border punch across the top. (Martha Stewart Crafts) Cut deep orange cardstock 4 1/2" x 2 1/4" then border punch bottom. (Little B Designs). Cut wide black lace.
Fussy cut steampunk images from paper collection as shown. Stamp witch's hat and Happy Halloween sentiment (Close To My Heart) onto ivory cardstock. Cut out and ink edges.
Stamp gears and any desired Steampunk imagery with black ink onto pattern paper piece.
Adhere this piece and the green pattern paper piece to card front.
Adhere border-punched orange cardstock piece and black lace across card as shown.
Here's a close-up view so far.
Adhere the layers together shown here.
Add foam tape or squares to the back of this unit.
Adhere to card front as shown.
Add foam tape to the back of the fussy cut flower piece, only to the areas shown. Then add adhesive to the other areas.
Adhere fussy cut flower piece in place, as shown.
Foam tape really adds nice dimension to the card.
Adhere the witch's hat on the steampunk girl's head.
Insert waxed twine through the stamped sentiment tag and tie into a bow, then adhere to card.
Use strong glue to adhere several small metal gears to the card front, as shown.
Don't forget the inside of the card too.
Your Steampunk Halloween card is done! (A card like this will require extra postage.) Be sure you send it to your favorite Halloween enthusiast!
