Supplies you will need:
Cut tissue paper into any small shapes, about 2" diameter.
Blow up a balloon and put it on the wide-mouthed cup.
Cut your paper bag open; use as a drop cloth to protect your work surface.
Mix a small bowl of water with a good helping of Mod Podge.
Paint your mixture on a small part of the top of the balloon.
Tap your tissue paper pieces on to the Mod Podged balloon.
Paint more of the mixture on top of the tissue paper piece.
Make sure to overlap the tissue pieces as you add them.
Continue until the top half (or as much as you want) of the balloon is covered. It is helpful to create a defined edge with the tissue where you want the rim of the bowl to be.
Let it dry overnight.
Fill a mixing bowl about halfway with warm water.
Cut your plaster strips into 6"-8" lengths. Dip plaster strips through warm water.
Strain water from the plaster strips.
Place it over the hardened colored tissue paper. Overlap strips as you did with the tissue paper.
Smooth it out and let it dry overnight
Flip over the balloon.
Pop it with a pin.
Peel off the excess balloon carefully.
Here is the pretty inside of your bowl! Looks like stained glass, right?
If you would like, you can paint the plaster on the outside of the bowl.
