How to Create a Guide on iPhone

by Snapguide Team

It's easy to create a guide; here are the basic steps.

Supplies

  • 1 iOS device
  • 1 Snapguide app
  • 1 Idea for what to share
  • Instructions

    Step 1

To get started, tap the Create button at the bottom of the left hand navigation menu.

    Step 2

First, add your title. Make sure it clearly explains your guide and begins with an action verb like Make, Cook, or Build.

    Step 3

Once you have added your title and tapped next, you will be brought to this screen. This is where the guide making fun happens.

    Step 4

Tap on the cover page to add a summary. If you learned the process somewhere, this is a good place to give credit to that website or person.

    Step 5

Tap the second card to enter the supplies needed to complete your how-to. To make it easier, select the pre-entered amounts and measurements.

    Step 6

Tap the orange "Add + Step" button at the bottom to start adding steps to your guide. Then tap which type of content you would like to add.

    Step 7

Tap OK to access your photo library.

    Step 8

To get photos or videos from your Camera Roll, tap the small image in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Then select as many as you'd like. Tap "Done" to load them into your guide.

    Step 9

The photos or videos you select will be loaded onto the main screen. Tap on the step to type a caption. Try to have a caption for every step, to ensure that your guide is clear.

    Step 10

To rearrange your steps, hold down on a step and drag it to where you want it in the guide. You can also delete a step by tapping the three dots in the lower right-hand corner.

    Step 11

You don't have to finish your guide in one sitting. Your guide will automatically save as a draft on your Snapguide profile.

    Step 12

Back to guide making! When you've added all your steps, tap the orange next button to add a cover photo. Try to choose a photo that clearly depicts what the guide is demonstrating. Be creative!

    Step 13

Make sure to select the topic that best fits your guide. Then, tap the orange Publish button to share your guide! After you publish, you can always edit by tapping the blue pencil on your profile.
