How to Create a Deathly Hallows Snowflake

by oott 🍰

This easy paper snowflake is inspired by the Deathly Hallows symbol from Harry Potter. They're so simple to make, you'll have your house covered in them for the holidays before you can say Quidditch.

Supplies

  • Craft knife
  • Scissors
  • 1 sheet Printer paper
  • Pencil
  • Old newspaper/magazine
  • Instructions

    Step 1

Fold a sheet of printer paper in half.

    Step 2

Mark the halfway point on the paper with a small crease.

    Step 3

Fold 1/3 over diagonally, and repeat on the remaining side. If uneven, adjust.

    Step 4

Now you should have this shape.

    Step 5

Mark the ends of the paper as shown, forming a triangle.

    Step 6

    Cut the triangle.

    Step 7

(Trim it if it looks uneven, like mine.)

    Step 8

Unfold it; if it looks like a hexagon, you're doing it right.

    Step 9

Now refold it and draw a line down the middle.

    Step 10

Draw lines approximately 1/4 inch away from the centre one.

    Step 11

Add a line 1/2 inch thick along the bottom.

    Step 12

Draw the lines on the other sides HALF as thick as the one you just drew. (When it folds out, it will be as thick as the bottom ones, don't worry.)

    Step 13

    Erase if you want☺️

    Step 14

Draw or trace a circle big enough to touch all 3 of the edge lines.

    Step 15

Add another circle inside of it.

    Step 16

And another outside of it. You should have 3 concentric circles now.

    Step 17

The purple dots mark the spaces we'll cut out. It is so much easier to use a craft knife for this.

    Step 18

Cutting them out. The newspaper/magazine ensures that you won't cut the table you're working on. This is what craft mats are for and you can use one instead.

    Step 19

Mine wasn't cut the neatest, but it will still look good. Now, we unfold...

    Step 20

    Finished--beautiful!
