How to Cook the Best Broccoli

Vegetables (especially broccoli) need to taste good to get eaten. Roasting is my favorite way to cook vegetables. Roasting adds great flavor!


  • 1 head or 1-2 # fresh broccoli
  • Extra Virgin Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sunflower seeds, roasted
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Yes, it's good for you...but if it doesn't taste good nobody will eat it. This is easy to make and taste great. It's delicious!

    Step 2

    Chop broccoli into bite-size pieces.

    Step 3

    The stems are edible too! I learned this from a Chinese Food cooking class many years ago. Peel off the outer thick skin and chop.

    Step 4

    Toss with 1-2 tablespoons of EVOO, sprinkle with salt and pepper. I use a baking dish with a layer of parchment paper (for easy clean up).

    Step 5

    Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

    Step 6

    After about 15 minutes you'll notice brown crispy edges.

    Step 7

    Toss with a handful of roasted sunflower seeds and a handful of Parmesan cheese.
