How to Cook Spätzle (German Pasta)

Typical German side dish usually served with meat and sauce or as a main dish with Swiss cheese and sautéed onions :)

Supplies

  • 3 ½ Cups Wheat Flour
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Add 3 1/2 cups of wheat flour to a bowl

    Step 2

    Crack your eggs

    Step 3

    Add salt

    Step 4

    Combine

    Step 5

    Add 2 cups of water

    Step 6

    Stir until everything is well combined

    Step 7

    To cook the pasta you need: grater with big holes, scraper and skimmer

    Step 8

    Boil some water in a big pot and add 1Tbsp oil and a pinch of salt

    Step 9

    Put the grater on the pot and pour some dough on it

    Step 10

    Scrape the dough into the boiling water

    Step 11

    Remove the grater. The Spätzle will swim at the surface when they're ready! Take them out with the skimmer and place in a bowl or on a plate

    Step 12

    That's how they should look :) Add 2 cups of Swiss cheese and bake for 25 min for Cheese Spätzle or serve with any sauce or meat. Enjoy
