Supplies

  • 14 Asparagus 5 to 7 spears per person
  • 1 Tablespoon Unsalted Pine Nuts + 1 tsp
  • 1 Tablespoon Sunflower Oil or Grape-Seed oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Toasted Sesame Oil
  • ½ Teaspoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 collander
  • 10 Inches Saute pan with lid

    Step 1

    Gather your ingredients

    Step 2

    Snap off tough woody ends good asparagus should give a satisfying snap when broken.

    Step 3

    The asparagus with ends snapped off are now ready for washing, they should be pretty uniform in length. Wash gently in clear cold water.

    Step 4

    Wash asparagus in cold water drain briefly, but catch a good portion of the water with your sauté pan lid.

    Step 5

    Dump the captured water and asparagus in hot (between medium and medium high) pan with oil cover immediately and give the pan a good shake holding the lid in place.

    Step 6

    Shake the pan every 15 seconds or so. Total cooking time about 2 min.

    Step 7

    Add Soy Sauce and shake pan to coat asparagus, remove lid and add Pine nuts cook an additional minute or so.

    Step 8

    When Pine Nuts begin to brown remove from heat and serve immediately.

    Step 9

    Pair with your favorite Spring protein and a salad. Bon appetite!
