How to Cook Overnight Oatmeal

by Rue J

A really healthy no cook cold oatmeal breakfast. Tastes like a parfait! Great for the summer!

  • ½ Cups Rolled oats (not the quick cook stuff)
  • 1 Cup Milk (or almond milk)
  • 1 Apple
  • ¼ Cups Greek yogurt
  • Strawberries, blueberries, or any other fruit
  • 1 Teaspoon Maple syrup
  • 1 Tablespoon Slivered almonds
  • Instructions

    Step 1

In a bowl with a lid, mix the oats and milk. Make sure the oats are well covered by the milk (they will soak it all up). Cover, and let sit in the fridge overnight (yep that's the 'overnight' part..)

    Step 2

In the morning it will look like this and will have a very creamy consistency.

    Step 3

Grate an apple (skin and all, ok maybe not the core ;) onto the oatmeal.

    Step 4

Mix the grated apple in well. Scoop out as much as you want to eat into a bowl (and save the rest covered in the fridge for tomorrow).

    Step 5

Add yogurt, berries and any other fruit you like.

    Step 6

Drizzle with the maple syrup and sprinkle with almonds.

    Step 7

    Mix well and enjoy! :)
