How to Cook Nonna's Meatballs

Yields 34 meatballs that will blow your mind


  • 6 sprigs of Italian parsley
  • 2 lbs of ground beef
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 1/2 cups of bread crumbs
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Put beef in bowl with 2 eggs per 1 pound

    Step 2

    Dice 1 clove of garlic

    Step 3

    Finely chip 3-4 sprigs of Italian parsley

    Step 4

    Put breadcrumbs & grated cheese in bowl

    Step 5

    Mix with your hands

    Step 6

    Mix well by hand

    Step 7

    Put warm water in and continue to work it

    Step 8

    Put another 3-4 sprigs of italian parsley

    Step 9

    Put a half cup more warm water and work it more

    Step 10

    Add 1/4 cup more warm water

    Step 11

    1/4 cup more of warm water

    Step 12

    Mix by hand until it jiggles, pat down with water & cover for 20 minutes

    Step 13

    Mixed fully

    Step 14

    Cover with paper towl

    Step 15

    Pour vegetable oil in bowl

    Step 16

    Roll meatballs with a bit of oil on your hands

    Step 17

    Roll in a flattened ball

    Step 18

    Heat frying pan medium high

    Step 19

    Add oil, cover bottom of pan & heat medium high

    Step 20

    Cook meatballs in heated oil- don't let the meatballs touch each other in the pan

    Step 21

    Move up heat to high

    Step 22

    Cook approximately for 3 minutes & flip with 2 forks

    Step 23

    When it's brown on both sides, take them out

    Step 24

    Put enough oil in the beginning to cook all the meatballs

    Step 25

    Continuously flip every 45 sec- 1 minute as needed to brown both sides & avoid burning

    As you are fishing last batch, lower heat to medium

    The fat from the meatballs adds to the oil

    The last one goes to the kitty cat
