Open your tuna cans and drain in a rice sieve (I can't get the larger tuna cans where I live so have to improvise with more smaller cans, ideally you would use 2 large cans)
All drained ready to out into a large mixing bowl
In the bowl ready to be mixed with its friends!
Drain corn kernels in the sieve
Add corn kernels to mixing bowl with tuna in it, open creamed corn can in preparation to throw that puppy right in with the corn and tuna!
In it goes! Add plenty of salt and pepper and get ready to mix, mix, mix! Making sure you break up any big chunks of tuna along the way....
Mixed friends together in harmony... Now put aside the bowl and move onto the onions!
Grab a couple of healthy sized onions and dice (I don't know need to show you how to cut an onion do I? Well I planned on doing so but was crying too much to take a photo!)
The diced onions which caused me oh such much grief....
Heat a frypan up on medium heat, chuck in some olive oil
While the pan is heating grab your cold ingredients out of the fried and flour ready to work your magic on the cheese sauce
Throw those onions into a hot pan to soften them and show them who's boss! While you a giving the onions a lesson heat up a pot of salty water to cook your pasta in :)
Add the softened onions into the mixed bowl of yumminess and stir through
The mixed bowl can now be put aside for one last time until its time to meet its fate....
Add you butter to the pan and wait for it to melt down and start bubbling
Grate your Parmesan cheese whilst the butter is melting down
When the butter has melted add about 2-3 tablespoons of flour and then quickly mix, mix, mix getting rid of all the lumps
Once it looks all fluffy like this start slowly adding the milk, about 2 tablespoons at a time
The mixture should thicken a little, that's good! You are doing it right, keep adding small amounts of milk till you get a sauce like texture
Sauce like texture being all saucy with plenty of salt and pepper
Add your Parmesan and grated cheddar (which I just used from a packet) you can really use any cheeses you like, I have sometimes added three different types to be even more healthy! ;)
Your water should be boiled now, get your pasta of choice, I usually use spirals but saw these in the shops and thought it might catch some of the yummy tuna mixture in the tubes
Add pasta t boiling water, turn cheese supreme amazingly delicious sauce on low remembering to stir it often, no one likes burnt cheese!
Preheat the oven aka - where heaven is completed to 180 degrees c
Drain pasta and put in large baking try once cooked
Nearly done! Spoon that mixing bowl full of friends into the pasta....
Mix, mix, MIX! Get it all thoroughly into every nook can cranny of your dish, pasta should be covered beautifully
And now for the wonder sauce that makes this dish.... Ermmmm wonderful! :) pour that cheesy delectable mad dines all over the party mixture of tuna, corn, Nikon and pasta... And you guessed it..MIX!
Everything mixed in with that lovely cheese sauce...now add some grated cheddar on the top and a little more salt and pepper. You need to place that baby in the oven now for 30-4O minutes... Go on! :)
Cheesy, tuna Mornay all ready to be served!Comfort food at its best! I made this today purely to freeze, so IF you have leftovers, whack them in the fridge and reheat in the microwave.Want some? Enjoy!
