Add spicy V8 to stock pot
Add all the beans to the pot.
Peel the garlic
Start browning sausage
Core the onions (this will eliminate the tears)
When the sausage is halfway there...
Add the ground beef
Cover and let finish cooking, stirring and breaking up occasionally throughout.
Chop onions into small pieces
Sweat onions with a little evoo
Add chopped garlic and salt and pepper
Strain your ground beef and sausage. Do NOT rinse
Add strained ground beef and sausage to pot
Add onions and garlic when the onions get clear
Add 5 spice and chili powder to taste
Add low sodium V8
Sweat/sauté the other 2 onions and 2 gloves of garlic adding salt and pepper to taste
Add mix to pot
Add 1 cup of water
Let simmer on medium heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
Let dimmer for another 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
Add additional seasoning to taste. We like a bit more 5 spice than chili powder.
