The first few steps are important if you don't have Garlic Mayo or JAX Seasoning Mix. I've included these 2 recipes, after that it's easy & quick.

First make your GARLIC MAYO ~ RECIPE: 3/4 cup Mayonnaise + 1 Tablespoon Garlic (or more) ~ NOTE *You can use fresh, flakes, or powder type Garlic*

Next make the "JAX" Seasoning Mix. This is my own made up version. This makes a good amount, just DON'T use this full Mix in the burger, you will only be using 2 teaspoons. Recipe follows in next step

RECIPE for "JAX"= 1/2 tsp Sea Salt, fine ~ 1 tsp Onion Powder ~ 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder ~ 1/2 tsp Paprika ~ 3/4 tsp Sugar ~ 1/2 tsp Black Pepper ~ 1/2 tsp Curry ~ 1/2 tsp Turmeric = Store in container.

Oil your cooking pans. Use a regular frying pan with a lid for the wild rice burger.  I'm using a grill pan to toast my whole wheat bun, but any pan will also work.

Slice the Red Onion, Roma Tomato, take 2 finger pinches of alfalfa sprouts, & the slice of cheese. Set on plate, this amount is for 1 burger.

I'm using canned, ready to eat wild rice, this can equals about 1 1/2 cups. Drain.

Next add to wild rice the slightly beaten egg, crushed saltine crackers, grated cheddar cheese, and only 2 teaspoons of previously made "JAX" Seasoning Mix.

Combine to look like this. Sometimes I need to add a bit more of the Crushed Saltine Crackers to hold it better together.

Make into a patty. This is a big burger. I sometimes do small sliders which are a great small snack.

Cook on med/low heat. Cover the Wild Rice Burger with lid.

Once cooked a bit, press down on burger.

Flip Burger in pan when cheese has started melting & slightly crusted, not black.

Immediately top with pre-sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese, and re-cover pan with lid to melt cheese.
