The Standing Long Jump test is a measure of power. It is a useful test for a wide variety of sports.
Having laid the measuring tape out along the floor. Instruct the participant to stand behind the line.
To generate momentum, the participant should swing their arms behind them and bend their knees.... They can do this a maximum of 3 times.
On the third swing (or earlier if they prefer), the participant should jump forwards.
Upon landing, the participant must stay as still as possible (I.E. keep their feet still)
The assistant will take their measurement from the heel of the back landing foot. An average of three jumps shall be the score recorded on the assessment sheet.
You can now compare your result to the normative data tables.
