![]() How to Clean Silver Jewelry Using ToothpasteI use toothpaste to clean silver jewelry or anything silver. (I have silver cleaning solution but I rarely use it.) Toothpaste contains hydrated silica which is an abrasive and surface stain remover. |

Step 1Here's a silver ring that my friend made. It's very tarnished... |

Step 2Squeeze out a little bit of toothpaste. (My brushing preference is cinnamon (TMI?) but it works with whatever kind you have) Tartar control works the best since it contains the most hydrated silica. |

Step 3Rub the toothpaste all over the ring. Just like you're washing it but instead of using soap it's toothpaste. I know it seems strange but it works. |

Step 4Rinse all the toothpaste off and pat it dry. |

Step 5That's a clean and shiny ring! If your silver still isn't shiny enough- just squeeze out more toothpaste and do it again. |
