How to do a basic braid!

Supplies

  • Hair
  • Ponytail holder
  • Brush (optional)
  • Instructions

    Step 1

Find hair to braid, and ensure the hair is adequate length.

    Step 2

Divide hair into three equal sections.

    Step 3

Take the strand on the right, and cross it over the top of the middle strand. The strand you crossed over should be in the middle now, and the middle strand should be on the right.

    Step 4

Take the strand on the left, and cross it over the top of the strand that is in the middle. The left strand should be in the middle now, and the strand that was in the middle should be on the left.

    Step 5

Take the strand on the right, and cross it over the top of the strand that is in the middle.

    Step 6

Take the strand on the left, and cross it over the top of the strand that is in the middle.

    Step 7

Repeat steps 5-6 until you get to the end of the hair. Make sure to leave about 2-3 inches of loose hair at the end of the braid so you can fasten the ponytail holder to hold the braid in place.

    Step 8

This is what the braid should look like when completely finished.
