How to Bake Cottage Cheese Cake

Russian cottage cheese cake (tvorojnaya zapekanka)


  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Pounds Russian cottage cheese
  • 50 Grams Unsalted butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Semolina/farina or flour
  • 1 Quart Egg yolk
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ Cups Sugar
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Mix sugar and 2 eggs with a fork

    Step 2

    Add cottage cheese (tvorog)

    Step 3

    Add melted butter

    Step 4

    Using a blender finely blend the mixture

    Step 5

    Add farina or flour

    Step 6

    Add vanilla extract

    Step 7

    Step 8

    Consistency should be like this

    Step 9

    Spread the mixture in the baking pan

    Step 10

    Get an egg yolk

    Step 11

    Brush the top with an egg yolk. Cover all. And bake for 50 minutes at 180C (350F).

    Step 12

    Cool completely and refrigerate for a couple of hours, serve with cream or jam.
