Michael, thanks for the comment. Before I made this tutorial, I have considered if this is the good way to tie up cables like this. As you said, this might be bad for cable life. However, I have been using this method for quite a while, and if you do not make the loop that small, it should be fine. The only thing you need to keep in mind is do not pull it too hard and don't bend the loop too small.

It's a nice idea, and a well made guide. However, that's a short or an open in the cable waiting to happen. This will seriously decrease the life of any cable. The copper conductor inside is not meant to bend at such extreme angles.

Im sure i read somewhere that it wasn't very good to tie cables so tightly. It can damage the cable. Nice idea to avoid the phantom knots
