I do not have that problem. The only thing I can suggest is that you make sure the adaptor is inserted all the way in. On the 4S it snaps in. It appears that other people are having this issue. I will continue to seek other solutions if that does not work.

So, we got the kv connection adaptor at audio technica atr3350 lav mic based on yours and others' suggestions. However, the input volume is so low it is absolutely unuseable (bumping the volume up to 500% in imovie makes it just loud enough with computer volume at 100%). None of the articles we've read mention any kind of app or anything for controlling volume levels so I'm wondering if there's something missing here?

Hmmm. that sounds strange. The adapter must be 1/8 inches. Works with audio technica lavaliere mic. Check out kvconnection.com/product-p/km-iphone-mic.htm to verify that you have the right adapter. It doesn't matter if you have a 4 or 4s. Let me know if this helps. I'm sure we can figure this out.
