How to Prepare a Simple and Delicious Birthday Cake
If you don't have a cooker nor mixer and you have never prepared a cake before this is a solution for you! You'll be amazed! And people will be surprised. This Cake is a real 'Bomb'
The first time I prepared this Cake was when I moved to a dormitory and I didn't have an oven nor any kind of mixer or things I usually use when preparing cakes. I had to use my imagination.
Step 2 of 53
Prepare 100 g of almonds,
Step 3 of 53
100 g of jelly fruits,
Step 4 of 53
100 g of walnuts,
Step 5 of 53
100 g of raisins.
Step 6 of 53
Chop the almonds in slices.
Step 7 of 53
This step is optional. You can fry almonds or you can leave them raw. I prefer to fry them coz they taste better. If you do so please do it on the moderate temperature coz it's very easy to burn them.
Step 8 of 53
After frying they should look like this(please not burned).
Step 9 of 53
Leave raisins in the water for 10 min and wash them after that.
Step 10 of 53
Chop the walnuts in small pieces.
Step 11 of 53
Chop the jelly fruit in small cubes.
Step 12 of 53
Take your plums out of the syrup.
Step 13 of 53
Take the cores out of them. * as I said you can use other kind of fruit you like.
Step 14 of 53
Take the peaches out of the syrup.
Step 15 of 53
Cut them in half so you get slices.
Step 16 of 53
Take your croissants.
Step 17 of 53
Cut them in 1-centimeter pieces.
Step 18 of 53
Take your 6 tubs of vanilla pudding.
Step 19 of 53
Place them in the bowl.
Step 20 of 53
Take 500g of Mascarpone cheese.
Step 21 of 53
Add the Mascarpone cheese to the pudding.
Step 22 of 53
Mix it in a way you get a smooth filling.
Step 23 of 53
Take around 1/3 of the filling and put it on the side(you'll need this for later). You can keep it in the fridge for the moment.
Step 24 of 53
In the rest of the filling add walnuts,
Step 25 of 53
raisins,
Step 26 of 53
jelly fruits.
Step 27 of 53
Mix everything together.
Step 28 of 53
Take your sponge cake.
Step 29 of 53
Separate three slices you have there.
Step 30 of 53
Place the first slice on the plate.
Step 31 of 53
Prepare a whiskey cream.
Step 32 of 53
Spread around 5 tablespoons of whiskey cream on the sponge cake in a way to make it softer.
Step 33 of 53
Pay attention! It shouldn't be too wet.
Step 34 of 53
Spread the first layer of the filling on the first slice of the sponge cake.
Step 35 of 53
Place one layer of the croissants.
Step 36 of 53
Spread on each piece of croissant a bit of whiskey cream, just enough to soften them without soaking.
Step 37 of 53
Spread another layer of the filling.
Step 38 of 53
Place your peaches.
Step 39 of 53
Spread another layer of the filling.
Step 40 of 53
Place the second slice of the sponge cake.
Step 41 of 53
Repeat the same process again, this time with plums.
Step 42 of 53
Place the last slice of the sponge cake(this time do not use the whiskey cream).
Step 43 of 53
Take 1/3 of the filling you separated before and try to spread all over the cake.
Step 44 of 53
You don't have to be very precise coz the cake looks good even when the filling it's not perfectly flat.
Step 45 of 53
Spread your almonds all over the cake.
Step 46 of 53
Take 100 g of cooking chocolate. This is my favorite chocolate. Also called 'Kiss chocolate'... :) I use it for everything.
Step 47 of 53
Place the chocolate in the pan and add a bit of oil, around 1 tablespoon. Put it on low heat just to melt it. Or you can use a chocolate for decorating cakes(in tube).
Step 48 of 53
Decorate your cake with chocolate in the way you like. This is my way. You can't really make a mistake at this point. Just make sure your chocolate is not hot. It would melt the filling.
Step 49 of 53
You should get something like this!
Step 50 of 53
This cake is huge!!!
Step 51 of 53
Place it in the fridge for at least 6 hours.
Step 52 of 53
Enjoy your delicious Cake! Be careful when cutting in the pieces, you should have a very sharp knife and clean it after each piece you cut.
Step 53 of 53
Ingredients cost less than €15! And you'll feel satisfaction when you say 'I prepared it by myself':) And of course I'll try to modify this recipe and come with healthy version of it!!! Wish me luck!
I'm a student and I like cooking, healthy&tasty food, exercising. I'll be sharing nutrient dense recipes, mostly high in protein and good fats and low in sugar.
It looks great after I sliced it coz of so many layers. I really wanted to take a photo so I can post it, but the cake just disappeared in 2 min. :) I promise I'll post it next time!
I prepared it yesterday for my friend's Birthday. Omg it was delicious! But like you can see it's not so complicated, you don't have to be a professional.
