its supposed to almost coat and trap the egg into the same space, stopping it to split too much. It helps more as it cooks more, which is why you egg goes wrong straight away, however if you get it right in the first 10seconds, the vinegar has hadlonger to work with a more together egg... I think.

This is just one way of doing this. Ive got a feeling people maybe given false confidence after this. Youve done a great job because making a perfect poached egg is tough. Your looks well tasty.
