How to Paint New York Skyline Nails

Step 1 of 13

My supplies. Pink Tease black and white nail art pens. Barry M's fuchsia pink. Miss Sporty number 303 and Collection 2000 base/top coat and a clean make up sponge.

After making sure your nails are clean, take off any old varnish and.....

Step 3 of 13

Apply a clear base coat.

Step 4 of 13

This is my first attempt at sponge work, so please be gentle! Take a clean make up sponge and apply sunset colours, I've used pink and orange.

Step 5 of 13

Like so. I've blended the two colours in the middle so the transition is a softer line.

Step 6 of 13

Use the sponge to apply the colours onto your nails, don't worry about mess. It happens.

Step 7 of 13

I've only done one coat but you could do more. Apply new varnish to the sponge for each nail.

Step 8 of 13

Next, use your black nail art pen, or black varnish on a tooth pick, draw different size rectangles around the tip of your nail spreading into the middle.

Step 9 of 13

Colour in the rectangles, looks a bit naff as just a block colour, let's turn on the lights!!!

Step 10 of 13

Using the white nail art pen or toothpick, dot some small circles onto the taller rectangles replicating lit up windows.

Step 11 of 13

And you're done!! Clean up using varnish remover on a cotton bud.

Well considering I live there, it just looks like obscure buildings. There's nothing that says "New York" specifically, nor does is point to any other city specifically.
