Brown the lean ground beef in a large skillet. Drain excess fat. Add 1/2 stick butter, cabbage, and chopped onion. Turn to low heat and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.


After thawing the 2 loaves of Rhodes bread dough according the package instructions, roll it out 1/4" thick with a rolling pin. Alternately, you could prepare a batch of homemade yeast dough.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Spoon your meat/cabbage filling on 4" x 8" square of dough. Fold it over and crimp the edges to make a meat-filled pie. Place several Runza pies on a baking stone or a lightly-greased cookie sheet.
