Why can't Apple make a better and tougher cable? It's too thin like Steve Jobs, easily snapped. Kids snapped two of the cable. They should recall and offer replacement. USD19.00 is a rip off. It smart cover also ripped off in less than a year. What a degrading Apple...

I tried this before I went through the guide, it won't charge an iPad to full. Sometimes it stops at 70% and sometimes at 30%, not sure why

It could be your cable extender. Maybe if you get a more legit company, that would help??¿¿

yeah, sometimes mines overheats too .___. also, it takes like 3 times as long to fully charge my iphone :\ BUT, strangely enough, my battery dies wayyy slower than when i charge it with the regular cable. i have to look into this a bit more.

It's probably your extender. Because I use it on my iPhone 3GS and it works with no problems.

Has this caused anyone else's device to overheat? My iPhone 3GS gets really hot when I use an extender.
