Mathilda- how about replacing white beans with silken tofu? Since tofu has a very mild flavor it should work well and still give you a lot of protein. You could also add cocoa powder and make the base flavor chocolate. Replace dates with either bananas or apple sauce. Let me know how it turns out!

Kevin- you made me laugh! I actually took out the rum from the recipe- after everyone over here tasted them they thought the rum flavor didn't work. So I made them without rum and they were better. I suggest butterscotch chips instead. But I do love my rum. Maybe I'll post a recipe for rum cake? 😄

Can I use something else than white beans, and still keep it healthy and yummy? Like bananas or something? 😁🍉

Lol! My iPod tried to auto-correct the word 'blondies' into 'blondes'. It is also true to say I like bourbon in my blondes (sorry!) OK, I'll shut up now.

Rum is good, but being a southerner I'm partial to bourbon in my blondies!

You are a real psychic, you know that? I have a can of white beans sitting in my fridge that I accidentally opened yesterday and I have been halfheartedly flipping through my cookbooks all afternoon trying to figure out how I should use 'em! Good on ya for helping a guy out :)
