Now that all tanks have water, turn off the hose... Don't waste water now :) (oh the water that was in the tanks before reconstruction went on my gardens 👍)

Use a bright crayon to mark the water level in both tanks, this will give u your TWEAKING LEVEL :)

After watching the water levels for about half an hour, adjust water flow as needed. Changing heights, flow speed until water level is CONSTANT around crayon markers

Step 17 of 20

The green hose at the bottom of the last step has a larger diameter hose resting over it ABOVE the tank and goes down to about 10cm under water surface, this makes a bubbler for your tank 😄👍

Step 18 of 20

BUBBLER EXPLAINED: When the water goes down the smaller hose into the bigger hose, a combination of gravity and vacuum pressure sucks air with the water to fill the space of the larger hose & BUBBLES!

Step 19 of 20
From idea to creation it's all for HAPPY POND KEEPING :)

Step 20 of 20

You could do this on a smaller scale and then cover with a rockery. I would love to make a permanent water feature but this place is just a stop-over :) till my mountain is for sale 😄

Hi Erika, the whole project was made from recycled materials from the "reclaim shop" at the tip. The tanks do breakdown eventually (10-25yrs) but sheltering them with plants or rocks or even wooden frames :) These tanks had 3x20mm holes at the base when i salvaged them, so i brought some fittings from a garden supplies store that had an elbow on one side, and a rubber washer and nut for the other side. The fittings are normally for automatic watering systems. I do plant a variety of aquatic plants for the fish to eat, breed and hide in. Amazon swords, mayaca and java moss. I use terra-cotta pots with medium river rock in the bottom with coarse sand or fine river rock on top around the root ball. With the moss i just tie it to the outside of a pot with fishing line and put the pot in upside down. I also use the wicking method for boarder plants that way they can be almost anything for your ponds climate... And questions are great :)

In step 8 you have 3 hoses coming from the bottom of the tank. Explain their job and did you cut them in yourself? Also what sealer did you use around the holes? Ive heard this type of plastic breaks down faster when exposed to sunlight. What's your take on it? Do you use plants in your pond? What kind if so AND what are they potted in? Phew! Lots of questions. Thanks

Sorry, someone made a rude comment, so I gave them a piece of my mind. Lol, I guess i'm just sick of people being rude all the time.
