It's weird but my cat goes wild for it.

Gather your cat and cat brush. If your cat is like mine, that shouldn't be too hard! He loves brushings. (We have a "Furminator" brand brush and a regular brush for such cat toy making days.)

Brush cat. (This will be messy.)

Step 3 of 7

Yuck! However, grab all this hair together...

Step 4 of 7

Use your hands to really compress the hair into the smallest lump possible. My cat likes a mustache/roll shape versus a round ball.

Step 5 of 7

Toss it around. Cats go CRAZY over it.

Step 6 of 7

When he was younger, he even use to play fetch with it.

Step 7 of 7

At the end of the day, throw the hair ball out. Otherwise you may find a hair ball explosion in the morning...

Haha @Heidi, my dad used to do that exact thing to our Persian cats' hair growing up, so I totally bought him that book as an upcoming fathers day/silly joke present. I guess he's not so weird after all :)
