Hi Hawk :) thanx for the question. Is this healthy? Based on cleanliness, yes it is. There's nothing better than homemade-food :) According to this recipe, the most 'unhealthy' supply is the used of margarine. But this sweet martabak, however, you dont consume it everyday right? :) balance the intake with good amount of exercise and good amount of sleep (rest your mind and body for at least 6-8 hours). Btw, for further explanation I found a good article in clevelandclinic dot org. The article title is : Butter vs Margarine. It is nested under Heart and Vascular Health & Prevention. Written by the Preventive Cardiology and Rehabilitation Program. Hope my answer fulfilled ur question :) have a success project, Hawk :)

Hi Shelley :) sure, I'd loved to. Only the small problem is, it's been a long time since I made the murtabak pastry. It needs quite lots of work hahaha and the dough is fully covered with oil. Let me do some 'hand exercise' and hopefully I can post it this weekend :) thanx for the comment :)

My husband constantly speaks of the murtabak he ate as a teenager in Malaysia. His was savory, not sweet. Do you feel inclined to create a guide for a savory murtabak? I know he'd be grateful!

Hi Puri :) Thank you for stopping by :) Apa kabar? Glad that you like the recipe. Well, the end result would be slightly different with the one you get from the street-food seller in Indo hehe .. this is coz I dont use specific skillet (hahah dont know what to call the skillet it either). I tried once with butter but the best result would always be with margarine - I use 'blueband' for this recipe, but any brand is OK :) have fun Puri :)
