They grow underground and they can not be cultivated, they are very hard to find so they are considered a delicacy. You should check Google, Shane, that's how I check on the exotic fruits and vegetables from the local Asian or African shops ;)

You know I've never quite understood exactly what a truffle is... other than the candy variety. If it can be described, what does a truffle taste like and is it a root of some sort? Embarrassed to say that I truly don't know... and why so expensive? Thanks :-)
