In the saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar on low to medium heat. Stir until smooth and turn up heat so mixture comes to a boil. Bring to a rolling boil and remove from heat.

Place saltines close together on a lined baking sheet.

Pour butter/sugar mixture over saltines. Cover the crackers as evenly as possible. Bake for about 5 minutes at 350 or until toffee bubbles.

On a plate, crush the additional 10 saltines. Set aside.

Remove the saltines from the oven. While still hot, sprinkle crackers with chocolate chips. Let chips soften & spread with spatula until saltines are covered. Sprinkle with crushed crackers or nuts.

Place toffee crackers in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to cool. Break apart into uneven pieces and enjoy :)
