Yes you can. The only problem with wipes is that it doesn't really get into the crevices of your brush and only clean the outside part. Bacteria will congregate where make-up exists and piled up make up is definitely one of the reason we get break outs.

Sania, thanks for sharing your experience with my snapguide. I am so happy you are satisfied. I know right? I love this formulation. I kid you not, I used to spend so much money on brush cleaners. I have over a 60 brushes and to clean them was a pain knowing I will be spending lots of $. But now no worries. Yay! Thanks for sharing again.

Mostly from experience when I used to do make-up on someone for weddings, proms, everyday, and parties, etc. clients will share good ideas or asking for good ideas. If you go on YouTube you will find alot. If my ideas is from someone specifically like the make up brush cleaner- I will mention it. This idea is from Koren. He is great.

Yeah I have I think over fifty brushes and shockingly I use a lot everyday so need to keep up a routine of washing them because it's not only bad for my skin but my clients too, that's cool that you try them first so we know that it does work! Where do you find these great ideas?! πŸ™†

Tell me about it. I am a sephora and MAC addict. I seriously have issues with make-up and skin care. I try to help my hubby and find new ways and look at guru's on beauty and other enthusiast like me on how they make their own stuff. You are right, some are down right quack and some are really cool. All of my guides, I have tried on myself and see I'd it works then I share it. Those brush cleaners are costly especially if you have a lot of brushes you use.

Ok well I will try this then! Always a teeny bit cautious to new methods as I get stuck in my ways! But brush cleaner does cost a lot! Thanks for the tip and I'll let you know how it goes for me x

So far I have been using this cleaner and never have any issues or build up on my brushes. I think people who don't clean their brushes at least once a week will always have build up no matter what. The conditioner used on this ingredient is not enough to cause build up on my brushes but it is good enough to condition my bristles. Also, the alcohol used in this ingredients helps minimize if not avoid the build up issue. I was told the same with the build up issue but I wanted to try it out and it turned out pretty awesome for me and have never used MAC brush cleaner anymore. I have pretty expensive brushes and have been using this cleaner with no problem. Also, if you don't use the conditioner, your brushes will fall out easily because of the alcohol.

I was told not to condition brushes as thy become oily an have residue, and leaving all those products to dry in the brush rather than rinsing seems like there would become product build up

Hi Franquel, no, I don't rinse. I do air dry it though. Some brushes takes awhile to dry some dries up quickly. If you do rinse it because of the strong smell of the alcohol, do not use tap water. The ingredients on this guide works like a MAC or any other brush cleaner out there. The difference is the preservatives and other perfume they may add to control the alcohol smell. I suggest use tea tree oil or lavender oil just a drop to control the smell. Also. If you use shampoo and conditioner with lavender already the smell will transfer. Just shake the bottle once in a while before next use to make sure all the ingredients are mixed. Hope that helps.

Yes, disinfectant is what the alcohol's purpose so yes, but try to make the measurement the same.

Ya Bt the prob is I live in u.a.e so alcohol products by easily available. Can I use a normal disinfectant?

Sania Khatri last year

Bumdii Leyland

You can't substitute the alcohol at all but you don't have to get this specific brand any alcohol will work. Any pharmacy should have it. Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc.

Is there something else I can substitute fr this as I don't seem to find it where I live
