How to Make Glitter Bottomed Heels

Make an amazing statement with bold, vibrant glitter bottomed heels!

Step 1 of 7

Here are the supplies. You can pick any color glitter - I chose a vibrant purple.

Step 2 of 7

Start painting the bottom of your shoes.

Step 3 of 7

This is what it looks like fully painted.

Step 4 of 7

Start pouring glitter on. Have pages from magazines to catch the loose glitter so you can re-pour it. Cover the bottoms completely.

Step 5 of 7

Let the glitter dry for several hours or overnight. Then repaint another coat of mod podge on top. Don't worry, it paints white, but dries CLEAR. This second coat will seal in the glitter.

When I walked in them for the first time, I rubbed the bottom on the ground a couple of times so it gets some traction. It usually just scuffs the top layer of mod podge & the glitter remains intact. I've gone to the club, the bar, walked on the sidewalk in mines and I've always been ok with it. But if you feel like its slippery, scuff up the bottom just a bit - people won't see that part since it's the part you walk on.

The bottom that touches the ground will eventually get scuffed - which is expected (it happens with any shoe). But generally, nothing else gets worn off. You can always repaint if it gets really bad.
