Everything Karen said is true, but maybe a little bit clearer of a definition is that yes, it is an Italian ice cream. It's smoother than the ice cream you would get in a grocery store and the flavors are usually more fruits and nuts like cherry and pistachio. I hope that helps also

Oh ok I thought maybe it was ice cream from a different culture, in this case that being Italian. Thank you for explaining. And you appear to me as having plenty of knowledge!!! 😃

My dear Amanda some times a seemingly simple question is very hard to answer. Your questions always makes me dig deep into my limited knowledge of cooking and that is so fun. So keep your questions coming and if I can I'll try to answer. My English is not very good so if there are things you do not understand in my answers ask again. 😄

My dear Amanda this guide shows what gelato is. It is an ice-cream made from a mix of cream and milk. The word is Italian. Ice cream is as you can in the word cream made of cream. The problem with making ice from cream alone is that the fat in the cream so easy becomes lumpy and not nice to eat. On the other hand too much milk can also be a problem because it contains more water and makes crystals when frozen, so the ratio between milk and cream is important. I'll be making more guides on ice making and explain the process and the problems that you can run in to and why this problems occurs and most important how to avoid this problems.

That's a great idea. I wear my moms engagement ring and when I bake of cook with my hands I always worry I'm going to lose it. I'm sorry you had to go through that to show the rest of us a better way though

Dear Amanda thank you for your sympathy At the time I really needed it. I cried and was so angry at my self. So I showed my method not to loose a ring to prevent others from making my careless mistake.

Dear Chasidy what have happened is that your eggs have turned into scrambled eggs. There is sadly nothing you can do but to eat sweet scrambled eggs and start again. Try using a Bain Mari : a big pot with hot water on low heat with a small pot on top and make your cream this way, it will reduce the risk of boiling the cream. 😔

If it looks a little chunky, have I ruined it?? It started to boil so I turned it down-too late I think?
