Put them in a large bowl

Bring water to a boil

Pour over our ingredients

Let infuse for a couple of minutes.

I think we'd normally use the Kombu seaweed for making dashi. Not the regular seaweed you'd put in the miso soup.

Are there any proportions for this? Equal parts bonito and seaweed and then adjust water to preferred strength?
