As a way to save a bit, often Starbucks gives away their daily used grounds for free. :-)

Obtain either your own used caffeinated coffee grounds, freshly ground caffeinated coffee beans (this makes a stronger treatment) or instant caffeinated coffee (if you don't make your own caffeinated coffee at home).

Also don't use your fingers to scoop out the scrub, this will cause bacteria to grow.

After your coffee is made don't waste it you can use it for body scrub. Also a month is the typical life span because there is sugar involved which does dissolve over time. Be careful when using this by the tub because you don't want water to get into the jar.
