Step 1 of 7

Have some homemade coconut ice cream during these warm summer days. You can also add coconut liquor (like Malibu). PS. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Thank you

Step 2 of 7
Place half the coconut milk and the sugar in a pan and stir on a medium heat until the sugar dissolves.

You should be able to. I think you would need to put it in the fridge for an hour so that its nice & cold & then put it into the ice cream maker. Probably usual rule of if you want it hard pack you can put it in the freezer until it reaches the desired hardness. @Giluia I'm American & have never heard of single cream. I've heard if heavy whipping cream & half & half.

Charlotte: As I don't have an ice cream maker I'm afraid I can't answer your question. But I think that it could work, give it a try! What do you have to lose?

I think double cream is called Heavy Cream in America. At least that's what I seemed to have picked up from the telly! Do you think I could do this in my icecream maker?

This looks light, refreshing and delicious! I'm just guessing, but maybe "single cream" would be what's labeled "half & half" in US markets, and "double cream" might be what's labeled "whipping cream" in US? @Giulia canned coconut milk is pretty widely available these days, try looking in the Asian foods section at your market.

Fine, I'll have troubles enough finding the coconut milk 😓! :) I was just curious because I've already read it in many recipes and not yet figured that out.

Honestly just take whatever cream you like because it will work and we have to admit that the fattier the, usually, better :)

I think single and double cream are only American, so it's not easy for us to understand what to use. Do you know which is the fat% of both? That would make it easier :)

Karen: At the bottom of each picture you can lift up a note or whatever you can call it and there you'll have the measurements. The serving is 4 (but big portions). Enjoy!

It is lower in fat compared to double cream. Also known as pouring cream.

Great! The healthier, the better ;) I guess this may be considered a "fruit ice cream" then.

I have a question! :) don't you add anything to substitute eggs? Does it work anyway?

Do you mean like small pieces? Well, while eating your ice cream you will have to chew the pieces and if that's fine with you than it will work perfect but I prefer flakes, smaller or bigger doesn't really matter! I hope this helped :)
