Pre-heat oven to the temperature required for your chosen pizza crust.

Roll out the dough onto a floured pan and set aside. I like thin crust and didn't have a pizza pan so I made a large rectangular crust on a cookie sheet.

If you are using dough and not a pre-cooked crust, I recommend cooking it halfway in the oven (after it's pre-heated) without any sauce or toppings, then taking it out and adding the toppings.

The reason for this is because the sauce you are going to make is a little thinner than what you normally put on pizza and can soak into the dough and keep it from cooking completely otherwise.

Slice your tomato into nice, thin slices, then cut each slice into halves.

Take your salt, pepper, and garlic powder...

...and sprinkle it generously over your tomato halves.

Slice up your fresh mozzarella into pieces roughly the same size as your tomato halves.

Slice up long thin strips of basil by twisting the basil leaves together really tightly and then cutting narrowly with your knife.

Spread a thin glaze of the balsamic tomato mixture onto your pizza crust.

Sprinkle your 1/2 c shredded mozzarella over the top of the pizza. You want it to be a little thinner than you would normally put on a pizza.

Place the tomato slices, fresh mozzarella pieces, and shredded basil evenly across your pizza.

Bake your pizza based on the instructions for your pizza crust. :) if you already cooked the crust halfway, you won't need to cook it as long.
